How to place an order?

• Choose a piece and follow the prompts to choose a shape, size (for urns), design esthetic, highlight color, and inscription (optional)

• Add it to your cart and check out. You will receive an email with where to mail in your fur/hair or to schedule drop off at the studio in Santa Monica, CA (by appointment only) and will have the option to have your piece mailed to you or pick up at the studio in Santa Monica, CA (by appointment only).

• Once it is ready, we will notify you, standard pieces take 2 weeks and custom pieces take 6 weeks.

• If ordering a custom piece, you will receive a phone call from the artist to discuss the design and details.

How much hair/fur is needed?

A small handful of fur/hair is sufficient. Think around 30 strands of medium length hair and triple that if short hair.  

Does the color of the hair/fur matter?

All hair/fur will burn and create black markings on the piece.  

How to care for my piece?

Minimize exposure to water and sunlight.  Clean with a dry soft towel.  Do not put anything with adhesive on your vase, like tape, it will remove the decorative layer.

Can Raku pieces hold water?

Raku pieces are not food safe and cannot hold water, they are strictly decorative.

I see some small cracks on the piece, is this normal?

Small cracks can form due to the rapid extreme temperature change during the raku firing process, this is normal.

We do not offer refunds as the pieces are custom made for you.
